This 1959 GMC one-ton runs great and looks real good. It has a 12' bed constructed of oak.
It has a 283 Chevy engine with a Chevy front end clip but it has not been in an accident.
This classic GMC has a 4-speed HD transmission and like-new Nylon dual tires. Both the radiator and the fuel tank
have been replaced and the owner still might still have the old radiator and fuel tank if you want them. All
gauges, except fuel, work. All lights and turn signals work.
Brakes and wheel cylinder have been updated. This GMC has also had a complete tune-up plugs, points, condenser, rotor
cap wires and the carburetor has been overhauled. This truck is Rated #2 For more information, call 417-993-5944 or email us.
How GMC trucks got started
In 1901 Max Grabowski established Rapid Motor Vehicle Company where he manufactured the first commercial
one-cyclinder engine trucks. General Motors bought him out in 1909; after that trucks from Grabowski's plant were named
GMC (General Motors Truck Company).
General Motors also bought out Reliance Motor Car Company in 1911 and merged both the newly purchased companies to make
GMC Trucks. In 1916, a GMC truck crossed the country from west to east coast in 30 days. In 1926 a GMC 2-ton made a
similiar trip in 5 days.
