Chrysler 300K cars limited editionsOnly a limited number of Chrysler 300 letter series vehicles were
built between 1955 and 1965. This letter series went up to L (skipping "i"), reaching 300L by 1965, after which
the model was dropped.
Chrysler's 300 letter seriesThese cars got the attention and interest of performance car buyers after World War II
and according to Wikipedia, can be considered the muscle car's ancestors, though much more expensive and exclusive.
The "cross-ram" engine became an extra-cost option available on the 300K only. The standard engine for the 300K was
a 413 4-barrel carburetor, a regular intake manifold, and 360 hp (268 kW) was the new standard engine. In
1964 the 300K cars interior was no long standard leather upholstery which brought down the price. Sales on 300K cars
in 1964 were 3,022 coupes and 625 convertibles.--sns
